Scholarship

For many years, the Fr. Baumgartner Knights of Columbus Council #5452 has been awarding scholarships to outstanding Catholic students.

Scholarship Information:

  • This Scholarship application is limited to Catholic Students, who are a family member of a Knight in good standing of the Fr. Baumgartner Council #5452 and who are attending Catholic schools in grades 5-12.
  • We will be awarding up to four Scholarships for the 2024/2025 school year:
    • 1 Scholarship of $2,000 for the selected student in grades 5-8
    • 1 Scholarship of $2,000 for the selected High School student.
    • 1 Additional “At Large” Scholarship of $2,000 to a student in any of these groups.

Important Dates:

  • Applications, essays, and references must be received by Friday April 18, 2025
  • If applications are received after April 18th , the Scholarship Committee reserves the right to reject them, or to reduce the number of points awarded to the applicant.
  • Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted by May 1st with instructions and schedule information.
  • The announcement of the award winners will be in May 2025.

Additional Scholarship Program Rules

  • A “family member” of a Fr. Baumgartner Council #5452 Knight could be a son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter, niece, nephew, foster child, or any dependent student living in the household of the Knight.
  • Students are not eligible for a Scholarships in consecutive years but are eligible for multiple scholarships in nonconsecutive years.
  • The selection process will be based on an applicant’s extracurricular activities, community involvement, essay, personal references, and for the top five candidates in each category, an interview with the Selection Committee.
  • The awards will be disbursed with a valid proof of tuition payment to a Catholic School or will be paid directly to the Catholic School in your name and the name of the institution.
  • Tuition payment must be made within 6 months of the scholarship award, or the scholarship is void.
  • The selection committee will consist of four or more members, in good standing of Council # 5452, selected at random from a list of members who have submitted their names to sit on the committee. Members of the committee will be recused from evaluating a family member’s application for scholarship. The decisions of the committee are final.
